DraftKings Pivot Plays for the Charles Schwab 2021

We've scoured the DraftKings GPP ownership projections looking for the names that are setting up to be extremely popular in GPP tournaments. More importantly, I'm going to tell you about 2 other players with as much upside at significantly less projected ownership. Ownership leverage and equal or greater upside from the players we're pivoting away from is the name of the game every week for the Pivot Point article.

Popular DraftKings GPP Plays & Pivots

Will Zalatoris $9,900 - 11% projected

Looking at the $9k range it is clear at the moment that ownership is chalked up between five guys at the top. Enter young Will Zalatoris at almost half the ownership of Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Abe Ancer, Corey Conners, and Joaquinn Niemann. Since the Masters, only two players have gained more strokes gained total than Willy Z and that includes a missed cut at the Wells Fargo, just his second MC on the PGA Tour since August of 2018. Since his remarkable finish at the 2020 US Open, Willy Z has seven top 10s and has only finished outside of the top 25 three times. Through 46 rounds in 2021, Zalatoris is 4th in ball striking, 6th tee to green, 5th in 400-450 par 4s, 3rd in greens in regulation, and 5th in DraftKings scoring. He doesn’t have any event history but that hasn’t slowed him down at other stops.

Cameron Tringale $8100 - 10% projected

Sandwiched between Matt Wallace and a ridiculously chalky Brian Harman, lies Cameron Tringale. Tringale had an epic meltdown during the opening nine of his second round at the PGA Championship and battled back on his closing nine but the damage had already been done and he did not make the weekend. It would seem like the sting is still fresh for some of the community. Not me. In his last 50 rounds he is 8th in strokes gained total and looking at his 2021 season so far; he is top 20 in ball striking, tee to green, opps gained, par 4 scoring, fairways gained, good drives, and Dk scoring. He also happens to be a great putter and I believe he will make some people regret hopping off his train this week.
