DraftKings Pivot Plays for The Memorial 2021

We've scoured the DraftKings GPP ownership projections looking for the names that are setting up to be extremely popular in GPP tournaments. More importantly, I'm going to tell you about 2 other players with as much upside at significantly less projected ownership. Ownership leverage and equal or greater upside from the players we're pivoting away from is the name of the game every week for the Pivot Point article.

Popular DraftKings GPP Plays & Pivots

Xander Schauffele $9,700 - 11% projected

Despite not winning in over two years Xander went on a run in late 2020 and early 2021 and posted sixteen straight top 20 finishes that helped his world ranking jump all the way to number five. There aren’t many holes in his game and it’s easy to find him near the top of most stat categories because of it. Since the start of 2021, Xander ranks 20th in ball striking and he ranks 5th in putting on bentgrass greens. Par 5 scoring will be important this week with four par 5’s and since the start of 2021, Xander ranks 1st in par 5 scoring in this field. Being balanced will be a popular approach this week and the 9k range will see a bunch of chalk. Xander provides some leverage in this same range with winning upside. In his last two trips to Muirfield, Xander has recorded two top 15 finishes.

Russell Henley $7,200 - 5% projected

I'll definitely be eating some chalk this week and I’ll need to find some leverage somewhere else to balance it out. Anytime I can find a cheap low owned ball striker like Henley, I get excited. Since the start of 2021, Henley ranks 13th in ball striking, 22 in good drives gained, 20th in GIR and 23rd in opportunities gained. Henley has also regained some form with the putter this season and is currently gaining .2 strokes per round on bentgrass greens which is good for 40th in this field. He does have some history at Muirfield finishing 29th and 33rd in his last two visits.
