MEDIHEAL Championship 2021 Betting Picks

I want to start right off the bat and say that the Olympic Club is a very underutilized venue. That place is absolutely stunning, creating a fun tournament to watch. Very few places put on the show like they did, with that said Now here comes the recap… After playing a flawless Saturday, Our pick Lexi Thompson took a FIVE shot lead into the back nine on Sunday and well let’s just say I cried quite a bit as she didn’t hold on to it and secure her second major championship. Yuka Saso ended up defeating Nasa Hataoka in a playoff to win and become the youngest major champion in LPGA history tied with Shanshan Feng. Saso fell far off the pace early but just grinded her way all the way back up the leaderboard. Combine her persistence and a little bit of luck (Terrible yardages by Lexi) and we will get to see Saso on the LPGA tour for a long time going forward.

This week we head just a few miles away from the Olympic Club to Lake Merced Golf Club. I will venture to say that the Par 72 will play slightly easier than last week as the winning scores the two years it was played has been -7 and -12. Being a bit further inland than last week I expect the weather won’t be as windy but it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on it and remember as always whoever golfs their ball better than the field will have the best chance to win.

25/1 & lower

Shanshan Feng - 15/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Feng has played A LOT of golf the last two weeks but man it's been some good golf. In the running at the US Open until the end where her putter let her down. She may be tired or may win, who knows. Has a 15th and 3rd here.

25/1-70/1

Xiyu Lin - 33/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Welp, last time I wrote her up it was her only MC since the 2020 US Open. Let's give her another go. Other than that event, no finish worse than 13th in the last three events.

Angel Yin - 50/1 (DK Sportsbook)

The 60th ranked player in the world has now posted back to back top ten finishes. The LET winner now sets her eyes on that first LPGA win. Outside of her US Open runner up this is the site of her best finish on tour with a 3rd.

Long Shots

Lauren Stephenson - 100/1 (DK Sportsbook)

We’ve been on Lauren quite a few times in this article. After Failing to advance at the match play she came back with a respectable 30th last week. This is the best stretch of golf she’s played in her young career.  Look for her to make a splash eventually.

Bronte Law- 200/1 (DK Sportsbook)

Bronte showed some life at match play, finishing 9th place. She now comes back to a place where she has been in the hunt before with a 2nd place finish. She’ll be looking to add a second LPGA title to her collection.
