The 2024 Valero Texas Open Betting Favorite Juiced Up Parlay

What’s up, Golf Addicts,

Money Marg here, and were cruising through the 2024 golf season. Traditionally a quiet week on the schedule, The Valero Texas Open has a solid field has committed this week. Most golfers have come for a tune up heading into the Major season. DB gave us his course preview this week and we expect great weather and some classic Texas winds to kick up over the weekend. This will also be the last chance to win and qualify for Augusta for those who haven’t locked down their spot.

The Top of The 2024 Valero Betting Board

The PGA Tour Gears Up for Augusta

The betting board this week is one of the strongest at this event in years. Rory comes into this week on his get right tour leading into the Masters. The Northern Irishman is listed at +1000 to win the event. Historically, he tends to win in the weeks leading up to a major (NOTE: Last Season’s Scottish Open Victory). Ludvig Aberg, former Texas Open winners, Jordan Spieth, Corey Conners, and a scorching hot Hideki Matsuyama round out the top of the betting board this week. The course is not the longest but advantage to the golfers who are long and straight. Those who can fight off the winds and avoid bogeys will find themselves at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

OUR OUTRIGHT FAVORITE FOR THE Valero Texas Open

Young Gun Ludvig Aberg wins the Texas Shoot Out

This week, I’m targeting Ludvig Aberg to win the Valero Texas Open title. Aberg comes in somewhat quiet considering what Scottie Scheffler has been doing this past month. The Swedish Bomber hasn’t finished worse than T-30 since the Sony Open and has three top 10 finishes this season. Aberg played his college golf at Texas Tech so the conditions are not new to him. He’s also had a previous start at this event two years ago as an amateur despite not making the cut.

Over the last 24 rounds, Aberg has been above average off the tee, on approach, and hitting greens in regulation. While his putting numbers haven’t been excellent, he is 6th in the field in avoiding bogeys. He has been solid all season and what I like about him this week, is he is not going to be altering his game in any way. I expect a full send from Aberg in Texas this week for his second tour win and some major steam going into the Masters.

The Pick: Ludvig Aberg to win the Valero Texas Open: +1200 on Fanduel

Phoenix will be the host of the 2024 Final Four this weekend. The UCONN Huskies and Alabama Crimson Tide will square off on Saturday in what will be a clash of two deserving teams. UCONN has been on an absolute tear this tournament, capping off an impressive victory on Saturday with a 30-0 run vs Illinois to solidify their spot in Phoenix. UCONN plays balanced and dominates inside. Coach Danny Hurley has been able to motivate this team to the juggernaut level that thus far, hasn’t been stopped.

Alabama comes into this game off impressive victories against North Carolina and Clemson in the Sweet 16. They run a high-octane offense, with an emphasis on the three-point shot. Their big men can also move and shoot on the perimeter. While UCONN might be the all-around better team here, there is a recency bias in the betting line. It is too high in favor of the huskies. The tide can make teams uneasy and dictate the pace, and if the three-point shots are falling, can hang with anyone in the country. The key to this game will be Alabama not attacking Clingan in the middle and having him move to guard Nelson and Stevenson on the perimeter. I expect a close game and love the tide to cover the spread.

The Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide +12 Points vs. UConn Huskies (-110) on Caesars Sportsbook

The Juice of the Week: +2381 on Fanduel

What a time for sports! March Madness coming to a close, The Masters in less than a week, UFC 300 coming up, and the playoff season for NHL and NBA right around the corner. I see big things for Ludvig Aberg and it begins this week in Texas. Hammer Aberg and the Crimson Tide for a big gulp of the juice this week. (1.5 units to win 35 units)
