Sunday Save Your A$$ Parlay: 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson

Sunday Save Your Ass Parlay

What’s up, Golf Addicts? Happy Mothers’ Day to all the wonderful women in our lives that deal with the endless grind of golf we go through daily.

The 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson has been a roller coaster thus far! A 60 was carded by 2 pm on Thursday to wipe out 99.9% of the first-round leader bets we all hammered. Scottie Scheffler then came out scorching with back-to-back 64s to take the lead after day 2 at 14-under. At that point, most of us figured Scottie would run away with this easily. The sportsbooks agreed and Jon Rahm isn’t around to run him down.

Scottie Gives The Field Some Hope

On Saturday, Scheffler unexpectedly let the pack catch up with an even round 3. With the forecast predicting lighter weather on Sunday, expect a lot of scoring in what will be a race to the finish. Tom Kim and KH Lee, both of whom were heavily owned in DFS and bet on this week, made the cut but did not have the scoring firepower to push the top of the leaderboard.

With the leaders currently sitting at -16, I’m targeting three golfers this week. All are within 1 stroke of their cashing finishing position and have a shot at winning the tournament with a great round on Sunday. Remember to check your sportsbook offers for boosts to drive up the final number for the parlay!

Finishing Position Picks to Parlay

Top 5: Si Woo Kim (+125 Fanduel)

Si Woo has the stones and the win equity to come out on Sundays and close the deal. The weather favors him for sure and I expect he will be attacking pins aggressively all day. On the week, Si Woo is in the top 20 Tee-to-Green and his short game has been stellar, ranking 3 in the field. I like the South Korean to drain some putts and push the leaderboard for another victory.

Top 10: Jason Day (-350 Fanduel)

The 2023 version of Jay-Day has been awesome to watch. The ball striking has been there all season but this week specifically, he’s 7th in the field and we all know he can bury putts in the clutch. Day wants the win on his resume, and I like his odds this week to finish strong and cash us a top-10.

Top 20: Taylor Montgomery (+150 Fanduel)

Montgomery has improved each day of the tournament. After beginning with an even opening round, he currently sits at -10, only one shot back of the top-20 spot we are asking him to cash for us. The putter is a strength for Taylor, but I am happy with his ball-striking numbers coming into the final day. In addition, he was 9th in the field from Tee-to-Green on Saturday, so he is feeling good throughout the bag.

The Byron Nelson Sunday Parlay: +623 on Fanduel

Will Scottie win again this week? It’s likely, but the scoring conditions will be in the field’s favor and there will be a Sunday shootout down in the Lonestar State. Enjoy your Sundays and let’s all cushion our bankrolls for next week’s second major of the season!
