A new week, a new venue. The European Tour have arrived in Doha, Qatar for this years offering of the Qatar Masters. However, its not the familiar setting of Doha GC our players will be testing there skills at, its the all new Education City Golf Club championship course. Recently designed by Jose Maria Olazabal.
Par – 71
Yardage – 7,306
Style – Desert, resort course.
As with all desert, resort courses, especially those worthy enough to host big events. We can expect a golf course that is presented to the very highest standards and for their greens to be set to slick. There is plenty of bunkering and penalty zones littered throughout the course to trip up the players. However, wind will most likely be the courses biggest defence.
Before I go into the picks and for those that missed my post in the ‘Nut Hut’ earlier.. Paul Waring posted today, that he missed out playing in the pro-am due to a neck issue. A decision if he goes to the tee or not will not be made until after lock. So be cautious if playing Paul, it could lead to a disastrous start if your heavily overweight on him like I could of potentially been, if I hadn’t seen his tweet.
