Course Breakdown

Doha Golf Club. designed by Peter Harradine and opened for play in 1996. Desert style layout with water featuring on several holes. Very exposed and plays tough if wind features during the week.

Par 72, Measuring 7,400 yards. (4 x par 5’s, 4 x par 3’s and 10 x par 4’s)

Par 5’s: 1st 591 yards, 9th 639 yards, 10th 548 yards and 18th 589 yards.

Par 3’s: 3rd 223 yards, 8th 185 yards, 13th 203 yards and 17th 155 yards.

Par 4’s: Longest 6th 488 yards, Shortest 16th 307 yards. Average length 426 yards.

Greens: Bermuda over seeded with Poa. Running at a speed of approximately 10’ 6”

Fairways: Average width made narrower by dogleg shaping of a good number of holes.

Rough: 1st cut 25 mm, 2nd cut 64 mm. Very Consistent and considered as penal.

Key Stats

Its all about the iron play, I want players that hit their fair share of greens on a very consistent basis.

Accuracy or even distance off the tee not a major factor here. The course really lend more as a second shot course.

Decent putting stats, combined with decent scrambling stats can only but help get 6 of 6 through to weekend play.
