Going to Festival 8
Strange name for a festival, right? We just got our tickets yesterday and are pumped for the show. 8 sets of Phish, over the course of 3 days will be a great treat in late October. And to top it off it will take place in sunny California.
Should be a good time at the Polo Club.
The lineup for this festival is amazing, this is one time I wish I were in Minnesota. With Panic, Umphrey’s, Tea Leaf Green, Steve Kimock, etc all playing in one spot that place had to be out of control. I never made it up to 10,000 Lakes myself, but its making me want to go next year.
Just waiting to hear some of the music from this festival….
Particle has always been a great band to watch, whether it be in a small venue in New Orleans or outside at some festival. Every time this band played, I would mosey on down to the stage and just enjoy the sounds. Close your eyes and pretend as if you are in that dark smokey House of Blues, just taking it all in. That’s exactly what helped me get through a grueling day of work today.
From what people say there was a low turnout that night, but these guys still tear it up. As one kid said who was there, “Particle brought the Funk to House of Blues”. Enjoy..

This show was part of the 2003 Winter tour that followed the New Years come back of Phish after their hiatus. I don’t think anyone really cared at that point what they sounded like, but they were just happy the band didn’t actually break up. We had started in LA on that tour and went all the way through. They definitely did not have the feel that they showed in 2000, right before the hiatus, but it was still a good show. I cant really say I have ever been to a bad show. Some have been mediocre, but most really good.
It was still cold in Denver, but we had wintered in SLC so the air in CO was not really that bad.
The show was packed and spirits were up, and we all got in that night as well. I enjoyed the second set the most, I love almost every song on that set. Enjoy

I can remember running around during this show like some crazy hippie, not really knowing that it would be the end to a whole period of good music these guys played.
I never really repeated the experience I had in summer and fall of 2000 until it was over. Weather was sweet, had not a care in the world, and we had just finished a whole summer of cRaziNess. I wish I had pictures of all that.
